چکیده

Identifying biomarkers is essential for early diagnosis of neurodegenerative diseases (NDs). Large (LEVs) and small extracellular vesicles (SEVs) are (EVs) different sizes biological functions transported in blood they may be valid NDs. The aim our study was to investigate common miRNA signatures plasma derived LEVs SEVs Alzheimer’s disease (AD), Parkinson’s (PD), Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) Fronto-Temporal Dementia (FTD) patients. were isolated from patients healthy volunteers (CTR) by filtration differential centrifugation RNA extracted. Small RNAs libraries carried out Next Generation Sequencing (NGS). MiRNAs discriminate all NDs CTRs can provide a signature each Common enriched pathways instead linked ubiquitin mediated proteolysis Toll-like receptor signaling neurotrophin Glycosphingolipid biosynthesis pathway. involved this might give specificity their role the spreading disease. miRNAs great interest biomarker discovery pathogenesis studies neurodegeneration.

Extracellular Vesicles in Brain Tumors and Neurodegenerative Diseases

Extracellular vesicles (EVs) can be classified into apoptotic bodies, microvesicles (MVs), and exosomes, based on their origin or size. Exosomes are the smallest and best characterized vesicles which derived from the endosomal system. These vesicles are released from many different cell types including neuronal cells and their functions in the nervous system are investigated. They have been pro...

Extracellular Vesicles Derived from Gastrointestinal Microbiota: A New Approach to Clinical Studies

Extracellular vesicles, naturally released from all cell types including bacteria, are of great importance in medical microbiology due to transporting a variety of biomaterials, enzymes, and virulence factors, regulating immunity, and having roles in colonization and initiation of signaling pathways. These vesicles are also secreted from microbiota in the gastrointestinal tract and affect the h...

Extracellular Vesicles Derived from Acholeplasma laidlawii PG8

Extracellular vesicle production is believed to be a ubiquitous process in bacteria, but the data on such a process in Mollicutes are absent. We report the isolation of ultramicroforms - extracellular vesicles from supernatants of Acholeplasma laidlawii PG8 (ubiquitous mycoplasma; the main contaminant of cell culture). Considering sizes, morphology, and ultrastructural organization, the ultrami...

Extracellular vesicles in parasitic diseases

Parasitic diseases affect billions of people and are considered a major public health issue. Close to 400 species are estimated to parasitize humans, of which around 90 are responsible for great clinical burden and mortality rates. Unfortunately, they are largely neglected as they are mainly endemic to poor regions. Of relevance to this review, there is accumulating evidence of the release of e...
